NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR RESTORES PST TAX RELIEF ON BOOKS

Whether your store is in Newfoundland or Labrador, or you are shipping books from another Canadian region into Newfoundland or Labrador, Retailers will need to update their POS and eCommerce sites to charge only the GST rate on books sold into these regions. The Newfoundland Labrador government confirmed today that as of January 1st, 2018, PST relief has been reinstated on qualifying books. This rate change will affect all ACCEO Smart Vendor retailers directly in Newfoundland and Labrador that sell books. Also affected, are retailers selling books from other provinces or territories and shipping to Newfoundland and Labrador. Consult the official news release for more information.
